Buddy Richter isn't too happy about the fact that she and her family are forced to move into a rundown farmhouse after her father loses his job. Buddy is even more bothered by the fact that the kids on the school bus tease her younger sister Reenie, who has Down syndrome. As Buddy participates in a class project, caring for an egg as if it were a child, she learns some surprising lessons about the lives of her friends and the strength of her sister.
